Hitler was calling upon Almighty God to give him courage and strength to save the German people and right the wrongs of Versailles...and then to settle down and govern the county in the interest of those millions of oppressed "little people" for whom he spoke so eloquently.

Upton Sinclair
About This Quote

Adolf Hitler’s famous speech, “the hour of decision has arrived for us…” is one of the most quoted speeches in history. He spoke to rally members of the Nazi party, all of whom were convinced that they were fighting for a righteous cause. They believed that they were the only ones able to save their people from the clutches of Jewish capitalist bankers and international financiers. But it is doubtful that Hitler was truly motivated by a belief in God or any other higher power.

His speech was not about God but about himself. He was calling upon Almighty God to give him courage and strength to save the German people and right the wrongs of Versailles…and then to settle down and govern the county in the interest of those millions of oppressed "little people" for whom he spoke so eloquently.
